Every Reflexologist should have a reference library. I use mine all the time. and the Physicians Desk Reference book is one of my favourites!
So many times a client would come into my clinic with a long list of prescriptions they were taking and ask my opinion on whether they should take it. It is outside of my scope of practice to give my personal opinion, so my solution was to look up the drug in the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) book, then hand the open book to my client and have them read about the effects and side effects themselves. If the client had any other questions, I would always refer them back to their doctor.
It used to surprise me how many times I would I look at the collection of medication bottles, and see they were prescribed by a variety of doctors from walk-in clinics, hospitals or medical practices to dental clinics and chiropractic offices. I always wonder if all the doctors actually knew about the other prescriptions their patient was taking. Many of my more elderly patients could not even remember what they were taking themselves.
The Physicians Desk Reference is a must for every Reflexologist and Wholistic Health Practitioner.
